Brookes Gasifier

Core Technology Continuous Process

  • Unit Preheated to approximately 800′C during commissioning
  • Material introduced to upper chamber using hopper and slowly-revolving augers
  • Organic compounds are volatised in the upper chamber, gases move through to lower chamber where air is introduced resulting in highly efficient exothermic reaction which heats the upper chamber
  • The temperature in the upper chamber is maintained without external heat input
  • Ash from volatised waste in upper chamber is removed continuously to ash hopper
  • Process continues until feed stopped

Gasifier Advantages

  • Environmentally safe
  • Minimal requirement for exhaust gas cleaning
(low concentration of contaminants in exhaust gas and ash)
  • Very fuel efficient
  • Simple construction
  • Simple to operate and maintain
  • Compact footprint & profile
  • Scalable
  • Low electricity demand

Gasifier Features

Modular

The gasification units are modular systems each with throughput ranging from 200kg/hr – 2000kg/hr

Moisture

The gasifier is uniquely able to process feedstocks of low calorific value and high moisture content

Emissions

High efficiency and low emissions to atmosphere

Feedstocks

Proven operation on a wide range of feedstocks including municipal wastes, medical wastes, and livestock wastes
